Dis/Appear [2004/ bamboos, white paint, natural fabric wires]

Artist statement:

In the projective geometry there is always a point of disappearing/vanishing point. I am always fascinated by this phenomenon when I wait for trains. The flipping of the images will turn the vanishing point to the point of origin. A simple visual experiment + situation of everyday life= exploration of new visual dimensions of plain screen.

Video :

A Photo sequence of a train approaching the station. Every picture is transited to another by cross dissolve. The duration for each cycle is around 3 minutes. [Watch demo @ YouTube ]

Setup :

2 Video Projectors, 2 DVD players Two Video projections in which one is the mirror image of another, projected on two perpendicular screens. Please refer to the DV tape for better understanding.
