PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Fading Faces is an interactive and generative art piece. It contains an ID generative environment based on human faces images obtained online and within the museum space.

Images of human face will be taken from the internet and the exhibition venue. Then the images will be stored in a database for processing.

The processing of the image reflects the impression we have towards each others. An image will fade out bit by bit. An ambiguous face will be formed. [see movie]

Small tanks contain image of human faces from internet and within the museum. Digital ant-like creatures will takes out the images bit by bit and reconstruct a new image, which will be stored in a database, with computer generated name, gender and date of birth. [Click for demonstration]

Image Processing
The images will be stored in layers as a matrix as shown below.

The resulting fuzzy image is created by slowly digesting the surface layer. This image will then be stored in database. Name, gender and date of birth will be generated and attached to the stored image. Audiences can access these records by browser
